Question by Parvati: When did urban beekeeping start? And how about rooftop gardening?
I’m writing an article for a german magazine describing ways that New Yorkers are going green in 2011. I know urban beekeeping and rooftop gardening have been around for a while, but does anyone know approximately when they were started? And if you know of any new ways people are going green in 2011, that’d be a huge help. Thanks 🙂

have you thought about solar paneling and wind turbines
second quite a lot of people are starting to grow there own veg but this takes parrafin heaters to grow the seeds is this not contributing more to the enviromental damage than the outcome of home grown veg just a little topic for your aguement columb
