  2. 1 Get a cat
2 Attract the squirrels to a location in the yard that has food, to deter them from digging-such as corn or nuts.

  6. I ended up putting a electric wire around my gardens for this..I have 3 pecan trees so we have plenty of squirrels..They no longer tromp through my garden to get to the nuts now..once shocked..they learn quickly..this whole fence system cost me about 40.00 total..wire,control box, and insulators too to do over 200 feet of fence..You nail the insulators on 1×2 wooden stakes and drive in the ground leaving the wire about 8 inches from the ground..It “bites them” on contact but does not harm them..once bitten twice shy..they will learn quite often..this will also deter cats, dogs and many other animals..The control box for the fence is only 22.00..the wire at home depot is 3.00 for 250 feet..the insulators are 3.00 for a bag of 20, with nails included…Here is a picture of the control box I bought….
