I put up a small rabbit/deer fence around the garden with solar lights on each end.

Question by : What fruits can you grow in a square-foot garden?
We’re going square-foot gardening for the first time this year. We have some strawberries in already, but I was wondering if there are any other fruits that you can grow in “Mel’s Mix” (peat moss, compost, and vermiculite). I would appreciate any input from gardeners familiar with this method. Thanks!
We already have several tomato plants, of varying varieties. If I wanted to know how to grow small tomatoes, I would have asked how to do that. I know blueberries need more acidic soil, so I wasn’t sure if those would do well.

  1. Blueberries, raspberries, ground cherries, blackberries, currants, and gooseberries.

  2. Most fruits grow on trees. Don’t think you have room for that. Raspberries and blueberries grow on bushes.
Grow a tomato plant…little cherry tomatoes.
