  3. I have very short hair which I keep spiked up.

I think its awesome, which is why I wear it. Its also very practical. Long hair is incredibly annoying and time consuming.

  4. That they probably have or had cancer.

No, I would look awful with hair cut that short.

  5. Sinead O’connor and lead singer of Skunk Anansie looked fantastic with bald or nearly bald heads. I did try having very short hair ( partly shaven underneath) when I was 22, I used to scrape the longer hair into ‘Barnaby the bear’ style pony tails, leaving the shaved hair on show and it looked cute!

  6. I think I cannot possibly know why their head is shaved, but I always feel a grudging respect for their courage. They could be:
    – very secure in how they look, or
    – thumbing their nose at one convention or another, or
    – a survivor who is taking chemotherapy, or
    – supportive of someone who has cancer (either informally supportive, or raising money for cancer research by shaving their head)
    – just released from their religious vows and back in “the world”

All of these take courage of one form or another.

  7. I think that woman is creative, imaginative, and doesn’t mind sticking out in the crowd. She may be rather striking, or may be physically unattractive, but I think I’d definitely peg her as brave, since there is always that one moron in every group that will say she must be psychotic because she cut her hair. :’/

I like a girl who runs her own way. She might be independent, or expressive, and passionate. She’s not the average “monkey see, monkey do” that will jump off a cliff without a parachute if it helps her to fit in, and to be addressed as “normal”.
(Or to be thought of as a “good girl”, or a “nice girl”.)

I think I could really enjoy a woman like that. That said, hair is a very attractive feature for both sexes. I appreciate a person who takes the time to keep her hair long and healthy and kempt. Let me be clear on this: though I do automatically assume that a woman with a bald head is probably very interesting, unique, and intelligent, I don’t automatically assume that any woman with long hair is dumb and helpless. My own permanent girlfriend has very long and beautiful hair, and she is sharp as knives. She’s witty, funny, unique, personable, and very very intelligent…among other great things.

    She’s independent too. :’ )

  8. I think that they’re very independent and don’t spend all their time wondering what others think. I once considered shaving my head, but, of course, all the men in my life got real controlling land said I couldn’t. Another reason why I’m counting down the day ’til I’m 18!

  10. Women are free to do what they want with their hair, but they won’t get any attention from me with a shaved head.

  11. I know quite a few women who participate in St. Baldrick’s day every year (basically, you shave your head to raise money for cancer research). That’s not the only reason to have short hair, of course, but however someone wants to wear their hair is OK by me.

The only looks I don’t care for are the comb-over and the bee-hive.

  12. Call me shallow, but they need to be beautiful to pull it off. Long hair can hide a multitude of sins. Look at Britney Spears.
On the other hand, if they aren’t good looking, and still shave, because they just don’t care, well, respect to them.
