One Response to What are the methods of intensive and organic farming?

  1. Intensive and Organic are not mutually exclusive. You can farm intensively but have official organic status or you can farm extensively but not organically. Intensive and non organic both have pollution issues, intensive due to the concentration of waste and non organic due to the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides, worst scenario for pollution risk would be intensive non organic, lowest pollution risk comes from extensive organic farming.
There are however potential problems with insufficient food production levels with extensive organic farming as a global system. General consensus at present is a middle road, ie as extensive as is practical with as low an artificial chemical input as possible
