We hooked up their old brooder lamp and now they’re as happy as pigs in slop (or chickens under a heat lamp). The coop is now a balmy 45 degrees and the girls are thrilled!

  2. @laidbackguy1972 You’re so right. That was the last season I used a heat lamp – they actually got a little irritated and started pecking each other. Last winter, we just used a little heater tray for their water and got rid of the lamp. They survived beautifully (though they stopped laying eggs for a bit) and were happy pretty girls at the start of Spring.

  3. @genghisgirl nah i’m just playing, I heard eating chicken is not good for you nowadays anyway, because of how farmers raise em. They say free range chicken is the best. but im black so you know i can’t give up chicken, lol. you have some cool videos btw. peace.

  6. Hi cud u tell me wer can i buy a heat lamp, i hv 3 chickens and a small coop
    with 5X3 run i hv insulated it with thick 200mm loft insulator and covered it with rain cover plus lifted the coop from ground level, thye hv plenty hay, i keep 2 hot water bottle for them at night , wat more can i do i am really worried for my girls, it was very cold 2day, please help and suggest…thanks
