A duck is jumping into the pond. I don’t know why they raise ducks here 🙂

Question by TF: Raising Ducks?
Hi, my sister was raising two pet ducks. Unfortunately one of them just died today (they are a couple months old). I am afraid that the surviving duck will get very lonely, as those two went and did everything together. Is it possible to introduce a new duck? Should it be an adult or duckling (or does it matter), and should it be a male or female (or does it matter)? Thanks for any help or advice you can offer about this matter; it is greatly appreciated.

One Response to Raising Ducks?

  1. I had the similar thing happen and I chose to get another duck as close to the same age and or size because until they get use to each other there will be some arguing. . pecking but after they decide who is the “boss”. . . all will be OK.
Sex doesn’t matter unless you do or don’t want mating and more ducklings.
