  1. @wesbilly That’s perfect, but you really don’t need broth with raw pack. Have fun:)

  4. @wesbilly what kind of meat? That would tell me a little more and always refer to your Ball
    Canning Book.

  5. Just did the raw pack today. I used quart jars with 3/4 filled with meat and rest broth.
I think I may have cut my meat too small. I put one pund of meat to a jar. Is that about how much you put in your pints?

  7. I just got a deal on beef and decided to can stew meat. I have canned with the raw pack method before but was not thrilled with the result. I decided to do it the way you show here and I think it looks so much better. I can’t wait to see how it tastes!!

  11. Great help to me I am new to this type of food storage. Saw it done as a child. Alot of my folks who live far from me, still can but they are not near enough to really help or show me the process. This is a great help. Thanks, Got a question. Canning jars here are so high for the qt jars they the cheapest was 18.00 for 12 is that right? I thought the jars where alot cheaper. Can you just water bath the meat and can or do you have to Pressure cook it? Thanks

  18. @earlene0925 Not one bit of problem, I figure it is a canning jar so I didn’t think twice about it. In fact some of those have already been used a few times. 🙂

  19. I notice you pressure canned in better homes and garden jars. Have you ever had problems pressure canning with them. I cant find anything that says they are for pressure canning.

  24. @MsAnna4040 I am not sure how you canned your hamburger, I have never really noticed a taste change, just a textural one. And once it is put in chili or a casserole I hardly see a difference. I have eaten it in tacos and is still okay. I promise, when times get bad, we all will appreciate canned hamburger. Blessings
