Question by Mj: Is charcoal from burnt chicken toxic if a dog eats it?
I burned dinner [chicken] and my neighbor’s dog ate it when I set the pan on the porch. She claims it caused a tumor that eventually caused the dog’s death several weeks later. I find it pretty hard to believe, but who knows?

  1. Nope, but chicken bones can splinter and cause problems in their digestive track. If this is the case, feed the dog some slices of bread.

  2. How much? Ten pounds of it would be awful. But a little burnt skin is okay. But he shouldn’t eat the chicken, anyway, because of the bones.

And what was y our neighbor’s dog doing loose on your property?

  4. I think that the owner has no right to be blaming you if her dog got loose into your backyard and ate burn chicken. I don’t think that it would cause the death of a dog…but I guess it depends on the amount the dog consumed.

  5. Yes, do not feed your dog chicken bones, beef bones are okay because they are bigger.
