Hydroponics, Onions, Time Lapse of Aerogarden.

Second week of adding nutrients to the hydroponic set-up. I’ve removed the domes from the onion trays and reseeded the cells that didn’t germinate. A look at…

  2. The aerogarden is doing really well, the basil is huge! You’re going to
have some great onions, very nice germination rate. Mine didn’t do as well,
I have to do some re-seeding.

  3. Now I know why my onion seed never did well, I let it grow into long,
gangly, stalks that just died. You have inspired me to try again. Thank you.

  4. The time lapse was great. I got a booklet on the aero garden today.I sent
or it after watching you video after Christmas. Do you think that this is
the best way to start plants when you know nothing about hydroponics?

    melting and water running everywhere.

  6. Different types of plants drink different amounts and at different stages
of maturity. The bigger they get, the more they will drink of course (also
dependent on temperature) so it would be hard for me to give you an exact
scenario but after the roots really start to take off. If I see a
noticeable nutrient level drop, I go ahead and top it off. Be that is your
first time though, I would just follow the instructions you already have
and see how it goes then decide if you want to try other ways.

the upper right of your youTube page click your account name them click
youTube settings on the next screen on the left hand side you should see
InVideo Programming once you click that just follow the instructions. Good
    luck.

  9. Thank you. It has many settings from once a minute to once an hour and it
will also take short 10 second video clips. It is a plantcam made by
    Wingscapes.

video guidelines teaching how to make your very own home made Aquaponic
system. Its so easy that even your granny can do it! Take a look at below

  17. Thanks Brendan. These will likely be cut back to about 2 inches high 4 or 5
times before I transplant them into the hoop house in April. I wish there
were a canadian source for seedlings, in the US you can mail order onion
seedlings and they come in bundles of 50 bare root. I have a friend who
uses them and has great luck with them.

  18. The Aerogarden is doing great! Nice time lapse as well. I usually top off
with straight water 3 times in my DWC hydro setups and change out the
nutrients out when it’s ready to be topped off the 4th time.

  19. What was your setting on the plantcam? I’ve been meaning to use mine again

  21. Thank you. I know very little about hydroponics myself just starting to
play around with it. I’ve been very impressed with the aerogarden I think
they are a little pricy but very well designed and very easy to use. Mine
is still going strong, I’ll show the amazing root growth in my next video.
Basically I guess I would say it is almost fool proof has good instructions
that come with it and is very easy to use.

  23. Thank you. The plants are so small right now that I haven’t needed to top
up the water yet, in the hydro set-up. How long a period of time are you
talking about between changes? The plants have been growing nicely this
week and really putting down roots. The aerogarden has really surprised me
I had looked at them over the years but though they were a rip off because
    of the price.

  25. Yes, the seeds are new – dated for 2013 use. They are “Botanical Interest”
brand, they used to be reliable, but doesn’t seem so anymore. This morning
I re-seeded, I’ll know in the next week or so if I just need to purchase
more. I also got some tomatoes going today – getting kind of excited! Have
    a great day 🙂
