How should we start to build a chicken coop?

A sketch of the chicken coop that we are planning on building in our backyard. The left hand side is the coop, and the right 10 feet is the chicken run. We hope it will keep around 5-7 chickens.

Question by Sarah: How should we start to build a chicken coop?
My husband and I are planning to build a chicken coop. We have no experience in building it.
So I come here and wanna get some tips and suggestions:)

  5. That’s a big project!
    U have to think about what material u wanna use, what design the coop is, how much material, the size and so on. So a handbook will be helpful for u. It lists all material, size and coop design etc clearly. U will find building a coop with this handbook will be very easy and funny:)
