Question by nagaqueen13: How does one construct a beehive hairstyle?
My hair comes to just below my shoulders and is VERY straight. I would like to make a beehive hairstyle, but other than the backcombing don’t know where to start.
I need instructions to be able to do my own hair – or a website with similar would be appreciated.

Aw come on, they’re gorgeous!
Especially with BLACK eyeliner and pale lipstick.
I’m ok wit the backcombing – I have more hair than a hairy thing – how does one get it to fasten?
And where does one fasten it?
The front looks great, but the back keeps coming up a MESS!

What do you think? Answer below!

  3. OK, this intrigued me, so I’ve done some searching.

    This page has setting instructions:

This is a basic help page:

And this one has a step-by-step. (Don’t know how effective it is though!)

Hope one of these helps, I wouldn’t have thought it would have been so hard to find instructions!

  4. as a salon owner you would not believe how many bee hive styles I now get asked to do, it is very much coming back into fashion, and with the right make up it looks stunning
as a stylist I still prefer to use the old method of a roller set first, then do the hair into a french pleat, with a lot of back combing it still takes me at least and hour to perfect a good one and it will last for a least a week, my answer would be to find a more mature salon and go for it, very hard to do yourself though, and I am sure your not looking at more than £20 tops and you will look stunning

  5. Once you`ve back combed your hair put hairspray on the roots. This will hold the height and keep the volume.
