Getting water hauled in to put in our cistern. We are not hooked up to city water yet. It forces you to be very conservitive with your water consumtion.

  1. When we built out new house – we did a few things – Grey water is a must – it saves so much water, front load washer uses so much less water and a low water dishwasher does wonders. We just used another water tank to use as a grew water tank – a cheap pool filter – and a pump – it works great – no need to waste money on expensive pre packaged systems. Good luck to you bud.

  3. We cant dig a well cause my county was metroed into Louisville and they banned wells. My water table is only about 50 feet down. I can hook up to city water for $7,500.00.

  4. Can you dig a well where your at? Do you know how deep your water table is?

  5. That really has to be horrible. I mean you can’t create more water! Good luck with using what you have and good job on being able to use so litte.

  6. We collect off the roof but we’re in a severe drought right now. No grey water setup yet but if I can find a cheap tank and pump I would catch some shower water to help with the garden.

  7. I imagine it is a pain. I hope you have a rain catchement system and re-use grey water. Why no well?
