Does a beekeeping honey house smell like honey when not in production?

Question by Rabbit: Does a beekeeping honey house smell like honey when not in production?
For any beekeepers out there with a small honey house: does the smell of the honey linger in the honey house even during times when it’s not in use? Does it simply smell like honey? Or is the odor more complex?

  1. My grandad was one, and I remember it smelling like honey and wax!

  2. it can vary but the majority of the time it does
    indeed smell like honey
    but sometimes you might smell something like an off-honey
    smell that is weird
