  1. You have misinforrmation here about the burying food scraps. Every gardner info advises open air and to miz with green and brown grass or leaf cuttings and to TOSS a lot bcs the pile gets hot. All you’re doing by burying food scraps is creating a toxic dump!

  2. Carbon Dioxide and Methane are not toxic lady. I’m all for compsoting and healthy cleaner ways, but swallowing hook line and sinker perpetuated lies and fake science by money hungry communist facists, are not my idea of self-respect and integrity. Why don’t you bother to search for the over 1,200 unpayed, uncorrupted scientists who have proven the global warming/global climate change is nothing but a scam to kill our country’s sovereignty by getting you to approve a GLOBAL TAX for the BANKSTERS.

  4. burying food scraps creates anaerobic conditions and therefore you will end up with a dark, almost black compost that is loaded with pathogens. do not follow this method, or use this kind of compost in your vegetable garden unless you goal is to poison someone.

  6. CO2 is not bad for the environment. Without it plants won’t grow. Don’t believe the lies. The globalists want you to feel bad about consuming Earth’s resources while they remain the biggest consumers on the planet.

  8. rhe second idea is exactly the same as landfill? methane is produced in landfill as not enough oxygen gets to the microbes to allow them to aerobicly respirate. the second method is a small scale landfill: dump it in a hole and cover it. no oxygen will get to it, and methane will be produced. methane is not a toxin, it is a greenhouse gas

  11. @lionglourds I think the 2nd persons interest is mainly in keeping the organic waste from going into the landfill rather than using the matured compost for her garden (which she mentions in the video that she has a small yard).

  12. Please inform me about the 2nd method of composting. What happened after you bury the kitchen scraps. do you go back & dig the compost out to be used for planting?

  15. @Yomalex3 Vermicomposting might be a good option to try… check out redwormcomposting . com to get ideas for that. As for composting, I prefer the Envirocycle compost tumbler. They’re both around the same price on Amazon, I think.

  16. @crazyaboutcompost Well, I dug a hole and buried the scraps but I didnt’t know that worms can’t live in sandy dirt (I live in Florida) so I ended up with a nice little ant hill instead : / where can I get an earth machine and how much do they typically go for?

  17. @Yomalex3 The Earth Machine in the first example will definitely make quicker work of the material, as it’s above ground and absorbs heat while allowing for oxygen. I’d say within 2-3 months you would start having a nice consistent yield. Digging a hole is also good, although it certainly takes longer. Regardless, you’re doing the right thing and it’s fun.

Tangerines are totally fine to compost, as is all citrus. Pure myth.

  18. @Jefferdaughter there are “plastic” bags that are compostable, they are usually made of corn or potato starch or something alike and they look just like regular waste bags

  21. How long does it take to make the first batch of compost with each method? I have been saving banana peels and plantain too. Are tangerines good to mix in? Someone told me not to because citrus may mess up the ph balance of the compost.
