Question by thelak89: Can anyone help me with the steps or procedure on how a beehive box is made?
I have bees living in one of the roofs at my home, and this is preventing me and my family from making the neccessary renovations at our backyard.

We thought of making a beehive to keep the insects but then we have no idea about how to go about it.

Pls help me find a means for making/constructing a beehive box for the insects.

  2. First of all I would recomend calling you local extension office and getting the name and number of a local beekeeper that can help you decide the best course of action. Removal of colonies fron homes is a difficult task and often, no matter how much care is taken, ends in the colony’s death.

If you are still interested in building your own hives these two links are to plans for the Hive and the frames.

You will still need to get foundation for the frames as well as other equipment and supplies. Fo those check these links.

  3. It is very simple get you some ply wood and 3/4 ply. layer the plywood inside the box of the 3/4 ply.
Then buy you a Queen Bee and turn her loose in there and your home free.
    Now word of the wise.
Do not release two Queens like I did, because when I checked on the box those sum bi**hes turned on my as- and I was rushed to the hospital with multiple Bee Stings. For some reason they were mad at me because I made the box too small!
