why are there worms in my bed?

Found this guy in the parking lot at the vet today. I was afraid he was going to get hurt so I relocated him back to the flower bed. He was the coolest worm I’ve ever seen and actually quite large! (Straight out of the camera, not even a crop!)

I woke up one moring and my bed had like 3 worms in it but they werent brown they were white
