  2. Hmmm… that is pretty darn cheap, but I would be asking myself a whole lot of other questions in addition to how CHEAP is it? Mostly things like this: What is the year-round CLIMATE of the area I’m looking for cheap land in? Are we going to be hating life half of the year because we’re either FREEZING our bippies off all winter or because we’re SWEATING them off all summer? This has everything to do with your cost of living AFTER you buy the land! and should bee factored in! Extremes in hot and cold obviously would require more $ $ for utilities so maybe that cheap land isn’t going to be so cheap after all! Just a thought! Also, is it an area where I can raise my own food? Is it zoned where I can raise livestock or poultry if I want to? Another VERY IMPORTANT consideration if you’re thinking about long-term SUSTAINABILITY! Is it in a part of the country where alternative forms of energy like wind or solar would make the most sense? What about WATER availability? Is is present, abundant, and cheap to get to? Think of your potential neighbors and the mindset of the area. Are they intelligent and progressive-minded? Are they salt-of-the-earth realists who are ALREADY doing their own thing, and who would be the most likely to be willing to collaborate with you for how-to advice when needed?

In my humble opinion…by being willing to think outside of the box a bit, for example being willing to consider living off grid you can find some of the NICEST TREASURES, land-wise…and for the best price! Personally I think some portions of North Central Arizona CAN’T BE BEAT! They have a mild 4 season climate, and many of the existing residents (in the rural areas) have been in the business of cattle ranching for decades. They’re great neighbors! People love their guns, and hunting there is good. Lots of nice features to take into consideration as you do your research and then make your choice!! Oh, and one more thing…ARIZONA doesn’t sit in the middle of TORNADO ALLEY!

I just happen to know a very nice lady who has some very REASONABLE high-quality land for sale there! Her name is Karen. It’s not the CHEAPEST you’ll find but it is some of the FINEST! She herself lives totally off-grid with ALL of the bells and whistles of “city life” and she LOVES IT! And she just LOVES to be helpful to anyone else who would like to think of becoming more sustainable!

Some of her land is undeveloped. One 26 acre piece has everything you need READY TO GO!
    Check her out below!
