Question by Joe Bower: What is the name of the theory/theorist? Green cities, intensive agriculture?
That is the name of the theory/theorist who says we should mostly live in very compact cities with intensive yet sustainable agriculture around it in order to leave the rest of the world alone? I believe it cites Singapore as a model green city as it was built on a marsh which was sort of worthless any way, and it supposedly has low pollution. I read about it but I can’t remember much about it, any info would be very useful.

  1. I don’t believe there is a name given to this “theory” or there is a person or group of persons credited for first developing this “theory”.

There are people who believe and defend their arguments that we should all live in compact cities with intensive and sustainable agriculture around the cities. One such notable figure is Stewart Brand who also wrote the book “Whole Earth Discipline”. Nonetheless, Steward Brand is not the only one person. There are many scientists who believe this too.
