No, I’m not thinking of keeping a fox as a pet, I was just wondering what people’s views of them were! I didnt know which other category to put the question in!

Beautiful, possibly limit stray cat problems, may spread disease, so urban (for eg) foxes may be a liability if we have a rabies outbreak again, help me to get rid of turkey, etc. carcasses. They also used to help provide rural employment. Not too bad really, but if you have chickens, make sure they are secure, because foxes can get overexcited when killing in such a closed environment, and may kill the lot.

I think Foxes are so pretty. I know where I live it isnt a common thing to see one, but it is a treat when I do. I had a pet cinnamon fox back in the late 90’s and found out that there are several characteristics they have that I was unaware of, as I thought they were just like a wild dog and could be trained as. Boy was I wrong about that. Look like a dog act like a cat on crack. They have razor sharp teeth like a kittens teeth but big like a dogs teeth. Very affectionate, but was a bad face nipper. That along with the sharp teeth were not a good combo, so the Vet found out when she had to put 9 stiches in her Tech’s lip after a check up. They are also Theives. Mine would steal anything it could get ahold of. They are very curious.
