Question by : should i get an emperor scorpion?
They have about the same venom toxicity as a bee and require about the same cage maintenance as a snake with a little more feeding.

  1. my brother had one and he never got stung by it. he loved it dearly!!…as a child though so i cant remember much really, though i know after a few months sadly it died…i think due to moisture.they are supposed to be sprayed or something? hmm. not sure it was the right pet for a child! but i think any pet is good, aslong as researched properly and well cared for. certianly will make for an interestig pet,and wont need walking like a dog!!

  3. if you would couse to buy it i agrre that an animal like these is not suitable for childern under 12 . and u would need to take good care of it you do need to spray it and watch the temperature in his living space and feed him reguarly. and one more thing scorpions are not like cats u can cuddle with if you would like to have a scorpion in youre hand … you will need to “train” with it untill it is comfortable and not srcared if it is scared it will attack. but in the end its youre choice im just giving u tips,:)

  4. emperor scorpion are just awesome! i use to have one and it lived very long and it had a great life but you do have to take care of it very well and tame it otherwise it will sting you its not that easy taming it trust me i tried do and at the end i did it took about a few months for me. but you cant always go to work and just leave it there you always have to keep an eye on it there very smart and mine escaped once and i found it on the sofa scary my mum got so shocked! and they need a friend anf have to have a big cage like a big fish tank or something big and it has to be glass so its not easy for it to escape.

    hope this helps. 🙂

  5. http://www.wonderquest.com/scorpion.htm You seem to be right about the venom toxicity – I owned one for about a year. The pet store staff (yeah, I know, usually not too knowledgeable) guy told me he’d gotten stung once and didn’t feel so well for a few days after. This was before everyone was on the internet (yeah, I know, dinosaur times) so I took his word for it and didn’t try to handle it. Cage maintenance was extremely easy and it ate for me just fine. I used to put a piece of cardboard between me and it when I serviced the cage. It always raised the claws and tail in a defensive position when you approached it. I’ve kept tarantulas that were much more docile. It was active in the evenings and would actually bang around the cage looking for food (or water, if I forgot). If you understand their requirements, I don’t see why not! It was an interesting pet.
