Question by FLAWDA::BABii: Should I feed my 4 week old pitbull puppy milk?
I got a 4 week old pitbull puppy and I think she may be to young to have been weened from her mom. If this age is okay please let me know, she eats puppy food and drinks water but should I feed her some kind of goat milk or something?

  1. you can feed her some puppy formula but not too much because you need it to be weened completely off of it sometime. this is just for nutritional purposes.

  2. she should be getting both milk and wet kibbles. They usually ween at about 4.5-5 weeks. Goat milk is good.

  4. See Elim’s answer.
Don’t wet the food with cow’s milk. Use warm goat’s milk or warm water.

    Good luck.

  5. He needs to go back to his mama. Is that possible at all? He needs ANOTHER 4 WEEKS of nursing.

If he can’t be taken back, he needs to be bottle fed for at least another 2 weeks.

They should START weaning at 4 weeks. He shouldn’t be completely on kibble until he’s at least 6 or 7 weeks old. Puppies should stay with their mothers until they are 8 weeks old.

Cow and goat milk will cause vomiting and diarrhea. Use Puppy Replacer Milk, only.

  6. Goats milk does NOT cause bloating and diarrhea. Anyone who says that is just regurgitating it from some other misinformed source. Continue to feed her a high quality puppy food and water. She does not NEED a milk replacer as long as she’s eating, though the best thing for her socialization would be to send her back to the idiot who bred her for another few weeks.
