I believe all the big cats in Jungle Cat World where born in a zoo. Many were actually hand raised by the family that runs the zoo. The lions definately were. Before feeding the lions rubbing up against the fence so that the handler could scratch and pet them. It is pretty cool. Of course, then it is feeding time.

The cats where fed chickens, pork and deer. The deer is usually road kill. It seems like a very good use for the meat. The chickens were pretty much whole, but the pork actually looked pretty well butchered.

Question by Randy: My dog is allergic to chicken. Can I feed her raw chicken?
I no it sound ridiculous, at least that was my first thought, but many raw feeders have told me that their dogs were diagnosed with a chicken allergy but was it not apparent when they switched to raw. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it possible that the proteins can become chemically altered when cooked?

  1. that doesn’t sound safe to feed your dog raw chicken. especially if he’s allergic. try fish instead.

  4. Chicken is still chicken whether raw or cooked. So yes feeding raw chicken could be a problem. think about it there are still peanuts in peanut butter. A person with a peanut allergy is also allergic to peanut butter.

  6. If your dog is allergic to chicken, then I would not feed, chicken in any form…be it cooked, raw or dehydrated.

Switch to a different protein source…there’s beef, buffalo, lamb, fish.

    Personally, I wouldn’t chance it.

  7. Raw organic is always better. It may not be the chicken but all the hormones and other added garbage that farmers are adding to the feed and injecting into the chickens. Juliette de Bairacli wrote “The complete herbal book for the dog. Go back to the canines ancestral diet will keep you dog healthier and live longer. Hope this helps.

  8. My dog is allergic to wild turkey. Especially when the 10 chicks are being guarded by 3 adult mother hens.

  9. You would have to try and see. Some dogs are only allergic to cooked chicken while some are allergic to all chicken. Or you can just stick with other meats. Turkey is a cheap bone in meat you can feed.
Ive also heard of dogs that are allergic to the hormones and whatever else comes with store bought chickens but they did just fine with naturally raised chickens from a local farmer but that is much more expensive.
