  3. Unless your dog has an allergy to any of these meats, any of them is fine. Lamb can be more fatty however and chicken is maybe more easily digested.

I didn’t give a TD for this, but I’ve never heard that beef makes a dog more aggressive. Myth!!

  5. Avoid beef, it’s too acidic, chicken is best.

Hopefully, you are using other ingredients together with her meat. Google for more info on this.

  6. Quite frankly, it doesn’t matter as long as she is getting a balanced diet. When you say you feed her beef, are you feeding a beef flavored commercial food, or adding beef to her dog food?

It’s important to understand that variety is completely unimportant to a dog – it;s the nutrient profile that really matters. Humans like variety in their diet, but a dog actually could care less. If they enjoy a specific brand or type of food, they would happily eat it every day of their life. That said, what is critical is that the diet be nutritionally balanced for the dog’s needs.

Dogs need a very different nutritional profile than people do and if you feed them a diet deficient in certain nutrients or with certain clusters of nutrients not in the proper ratios, you are going to run into problems sooner or later.

If you are feeding a commercial food that is beef based or adding beef to commercial dog food, your dog is getting a nutritionally complete diet and I wouldn’t change a thing. If you are preparing your own personal recipe, my suggestion is to join the K9Kitchen Yahoo Group where you can learn how to evaluate your recipe for nutritional completeness. The members of the group will help you to determine if your dog is getting all of the required nutrients in the proper ratios and what if any adjustments need to be made.
