Question by Erika: Is goat milk easier to digest?
I’m lactose and tolerant and I can’t have a lot of dairy products. I love yogurt and ice cream and I couldn’t help but wonder if goat milk is easier to digest. I heard it was but I’m still iffy about it, is that true?

  1. I think it might be, you could always make your own with products at the store. I know it’s cost more but if your really worried. Its easy to make homemade ice cream

  3. Much depends on how lactose intolerant you are. If any bit of cow milk bothers you then you’ll probably be bothered by goat milk as well. I’ve found that about 45% of the people who have come to me for goat milk have been ok with it. Goat milk still contains lactose but it does digest much much faster and so sometimes does not bother those with an intolerance. If you are actually allergic to the proteins in cow’s milk then you’ll be fine with goat milk as it has different proteins. Yogurt is usually just fine as the lactose is digested by the microbes that make it into yogurt.
However you’ll probably have to make your own as it’s very hard to find commercially prepared goat milk products.
