  1. They already do. And statistics tell us, no it does not.

  2. They do..

You can’t tell a raving hormonal teenager anything.

You can only hope that you have taught them to be responsible.

  3. if done properly, the obvious answer is yes.

not only would unwanted pregnancies decline, but so would abortions.

so why would those who say that they want to make abortion illegal be against this?

    why indeed…

  7. They already do. They do it in freshman health at my school.

I would say no to the condoms though. School funding shouldn’t go to giving every guy a rubber. School funding that comes from *gasp*… taxpayers.

  8. No, the right would oppose and seek God to rain down and stop such a heinous activity to take place in public school.

So no I don’t think such a common seance approach would work in a nation under god.

  11. It was working for a while. However abstinence only has been a problem as youngsters do not practice safer sex and end up getting knocked up.
The biggest problem we ended up having was hollywood’s baby boom. Young women ended up wanting to have a baby when they where way to young.

  13. Yes. These programs have been thwarted by social conservative politics to teach distorted information about birth control, or exclude that information altogether for “abstinence only” programs. When only given the option to not have sex at all, teenagers appear to prefer having it. Keeping them informed is the best way to provide them with the ability to make responsible choices.

  14. Not necessarily. Almost all of them teach sex education. Most don’t go as far as distributing condoms. Also, the culture we live in is mainly responsible for teen pregnancy increasing. It’s become cool to have babies young. Some celebrities are doing it. It goes back to who young women pick as role models and how they choose to follow behind them. Some of these girls see their role models having babies and having fun with the whole experience and they totally forget that the person they’re imitating is living a privileged life. They can afford a nanny and other forms of daycare. They can afford the best things for their child. They’re rich. Meanwhile the girls are just regular girls who now have to find a way to support their new baby and more than likely they cannot afford the same luxuries that their idols can.

  15. Unwanted pregnancy will decline only when we stop supporting the mothers with our welfare dollars. You have the fun; you raise the kid. If not–well, we are hardly an endangered species.

  17. Couldn’t hurt. Kids are going to have sex no matter what. Would be a good idea to teach them how to do it safely without getting knocked up or worse.

  18. They do and my high school referred us to planned parenthood! They had a woman from P.P. come give a lecture to us! It was insane! And did it help anything? No!! In fact, not long after that, I heard about one of the girls in my class who had found out she was pregnant-with twins. My mom and my church told me to wait and I did. I am raising my children in the church and hopefully the same will happen for them.

Kids don’t need to be left alone with kids of the opposite sex like parents do now. Moms in my neighborhood let their 16 & 17 year olds hang out with their boyfriends while the parents go out. That is insane, even if they are just running out to pick up the younger children and they’ll “be right back”. Parents have lost the responsibility needed to raise children. They pass them off to a nanny when they are young then leave them alone once they hit 12. No wonder there are so many problems with our society. They are kids-they need love, guidance and discipline. What happened to parenting? We look to celebrities and TV for answers…you all know this is true, but many refuse to believe it. We have to keep up with the neighbors. Other moms let their kids have co-ed sleepovers, we should too! Duh. People are brain dead and it’s sad.

We personally struggle to get by on just one income, but it is very important to us that someone always be home with the kids. Sometimes sacrificing certain things turns out to be better for you and your family in the long run.

  19. Shouldn’t that take place in the home? Shouldn’t parents be the ones to teach their kids about the birds and the bee’s and being safe and responsible, if not mature about decisions of this matter? Schools shouldn’t raise children.

  20. It would drop a little. Just as it would drop if parents taught about using birth control and distributed condoms. I tend to think of it as the parents’ responsibility rather than the governments’ responsibility.
