I am having trouble designing one part of my fiction story?

Question by Dᴇsɪɢɴᴇʀ: I am having trouble designing one part of my fiction story?
Because of a large planetary hurricane, the species in the story have moved to the underground to continue civilization.

A thief is being trailed by a robotic bounty hunter, and she moves above ground for certain reasons.

Now my choices are that, the place she ends up are
– Underground
– Above ground

The place is a hideout, with guns and guards, and I am having trouble piecing together/visualizing what it would like if it was underground. What kind of a problem is this?

Most of my inspiration for scene comes from putting together visions of images from across the net.

Long dark hallways. Surveillance room. Weapons room. Planning room. Money room.

What other kind of rooms would a gang of thieves have if they were well developed and had plans to eliminate the existence of self controlled robotic life? Maybe something like the newest Terminator?

  1. I believe it should be above ground, that way you could have sandstorms that would be a great camouflage for the place as well a problem for the bounty hunter to face. And why not have the entrance to the place be at the base of a mountain. (It’s a Writer’s Block type problem) Anyway, You would need to have a few lookout post or (Spotter’s Nests) outside to keep watch just in case the cameras are taken out by the storms.

Sorry if this doesn’t help your problem…

  2. Wait, if there was a hurricane, then wouldn’t they drown if they went underground. (just kidding) Well drug dealers and the military build entire cities underground, so your second picture would pretty much be your best choice. They have underground tunnels that go from Mexico to America to transport drugs in to America. There are also underground facilities in mountains. It is basically everything you would see above ground, only it is underground. They even have bed and breakfast type motels that they have created in old silver mine shafts……You just need your imagination to figure out how your theif knows the space exist and the people chasing them don’t. Around here there are underground caves…..and people who live here and were born and raised here know about them…..maybe people from the big city don’t. There used to be a TV show called Air Wolf, and one called Night Rider, an older version and a newer version. I don’t know if you can see old episodes on youtube or hulu, but that might give you ideas.
