  8. see at first you want to have the net pot submerged in the water solution
at least a 1/2 inch because the medium in the net pot will wick up the
water to a point to feed the seedling’s roots. and thats what’s the air
pump and air stone are for as long as the air pump never goes off the
plants can grow as big as they want without drowning because what causes a
plant to drown is not the water it self but the absence of oxygen that’s
why the air pump and air stone are so important

  9. @cable24601 what size plastic tote is that? im in USA and everything is in
allon, you said you fill it with 44L of water, yet there is still some
airspace in there, im guessing it is a 14gallon container because i have
looked around and a 14 gall tub is like 50ish qaurts and a quart is like
.93L. so i guess im asking is this a 14 gal or 18 gal tote?

  20. General idea here is good, but a couple of suggestions for you, First the
plastic tub should be black, this will block out any light. Light causes
algae, and that you don;t want in your root system. Another thing, why did
you run the air hose throught the lid? no need for that. just drill thru
the side within 1″ from the top that way when you remove the lid you don’t
have a dangling hose to deal with that could pick up debris from the floor
    and contaminate the water.

  21. Thanks for demonstrating the different steps on how to build a homemade
hydroponics system. You said that this is your first hydro system, but you
looked like a pro because you surely know how to properly build it! What
plants are you planning to grow using that system?

  22. Hey thanks for the reply. I have another question i need to figure out if
you could help…I have a resevoir, after 1 day, the rez lowers by 1 inch.
My question is: Do i fill it with more Nutrient solution or just top it off
with plain PH adjusted water? Then every 1 week i completely change the Rez?

  23. Generally, your plants should veg. into bigger plants, per amount of time,
then they would otherwise. They should stay greener and healthier because
they feed exactly when they need nutrients as opposed to when you do it
manually. In the end, they will generally end up finishing faster, too.

  24. i use just plain water because the way i see it more nutrients more PH
fluctuation and that’s bad. I change out the water in my rez every 2 weeks
but if you want and can afford that much water per month YOU can but it’s
    completely your choice

  25. how long do i leave the pump on during dwc hydroponics? i was experimenting
with marigold flowers and got positive results. I had it running 12 hours
on, when lights were on. and then at night, for 12 hours i wouldn’t run it
when the lights were off. i was using a regular aquarium air pump and it
    seemed to work really well.
