Question by meganpreece@ymail.com: How to ween a baby rabbit of milk?
Ok so i rescued this 4 week old rabbit and took it the vets and have been feeding her goats milk for the last 2 weeks. And she survived phew. She is now 6 weeks old.I steadily stopped her intake of milk and now stopped all together the problem is she wnt eat dried rabbit food only veggies and i know this is bad for a baby rabbits digestive system.Remember that she is 6 weeks now i got her when she was 4 weeks. So how can i ween her on to her rabbit dry food?

  1. You could try soaking the pelleted food until it’s softened, but not a paste. The pellets will start to swell a little and you’ll be able to squeeze them with your fingers but they won’t be mushy. This will let her get used to the taste of the pellets and see them as food. In the meanwhile, keep dried pellets in her cage at all time as well as hay. She will eventually need to start eating harder foods to keep her teeth properly worn. However, I think if you can get her eating the softened pellets once a day she’ll start eating the dry pellets on her own.
