  1. What lighting are you using? I’m trying to grow both tomato plants as well
as leafy greens indoors and you have one of the few videos where it appears
you were successful. Please fill me in on the lighting. Great job by the
    way!!๏ปฟ

  9. in the floating raft section what growing medium do you use? Right now my
system is hydroponic and I am using rockwool. But I am starting to build a
aquaponic floating raft system, but I have been told not to use rockwool
    with fish.

  13. not all types of plants do great in the floating raft technique because of
that and some other things i know lettuces are often used in floating
rafts, but ive personally never heard of stuff like tomatoes or cucumbers
    in those

  14. Have you thought about adding freshwater muscles to your settlement tank to
supplement solid waste breakdown and to “polish” your water filtration
    system?

  15. hydroponic systems.. and all the related systems are so fun.. I have become
a little addicted to watching these types of videos, made of people that
comes from all over the world.. I am just learning and observing the
different systems.. I got my head in, on all of it.. I know the vitals, and
the basics to make a system go around perfectly.. but.. it ยดs a really nice
hobby.. and I think that too little people use this amazing knowlegde of
agriculture.. ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks for posting ๐Ÿ™‚ and keep it up..

wanting to get some more fish.. while i was looking for a new filter to get
saw this.. just watched most of your videos haha. but at the moment just
pretty much looking around and thinking about how to set it up ๐Ÿ™‚ i think a
aquaponics setup would be a nice addition to what i have now ( just a few
medium tanks ) with some tomatoes and lettuce (: guess time will tell also

  18. Really nice system. I’m a bit confused on how the Raft system works. With
the roots of the plants in water at all times, won’t they be O2 starved?

  19. That’s true but this gives it a little bit more and gives us a way to
collect fish waste at nutrient for our garden. It’s really not that
    complicated and works perfectly.

  21. Where do you buy the growing media? Also what is the growing media? Lastly,
how big of a net pot would you need to grow lettuce or herbs? Thanks!

  23. @BigBearHuskyMusher Actually the fixture only runs 192 watts and the pump
I’m sure isn’t too much either. The bill actually went down since we took
out our earlier design and put up this new one.

  24. @edpozek I check back here just about everyday now since my friend told me
about aquaponics. Really interested on how the new indoor system is working
for you. I thought I would start with an indoor system first and if all
goes well, start an outdoor system. Awesome videos!
