  2. Its the best time to begin today. In your climate now you can plant spring
vegetables, such as leafy greens. Please check with your local university
extension office for specific planting times and plants for your area. If
you do it right, you can harvest food all year long.

  4. So John, when you spray your plants with one of those organic, all-natural
pesticides that you like, do you then still graze in your garden on those
plants that have been sprayed? Or do you feel it necessary to wash those
plants first? I like to avoid washing my home-grown produce when possible,
but I feel like I should wash it if it’s been sprayed with some stuff.
    Thoughts?

  5. They didn’t have Azomite until I called them over a year ago after I saw
your video. I asked them if they had it and they said no. lol Nice to see
they have the big bags now. I’m picking one of those up today.

  10. Hi, I’m from Sacramento too and Tallini’s Nursery (on Folsom Blvd) and East
Sac Hardware (also on Folsom Blvd) supplies me everything I need each year.
Tallini’s is great for fertilizer of all different kinds (bone meal, blood
meal, alfalfa, rock dust, vermiculite) and compost (manure, worm castings,
etc.) East Sac Hardware is great for cheap organic seeds, compost, garden
tools, and features like bird houses, strawberry towers, and fountains.
    Hope that helps 🙂

  15. Red Wigglers are composting worms. I’m not sure but I don’t think they will
survive in a plant box since they are not the same as earth worms. Maybe if
in one corner in the planter you put left overs in a hole for them. Not
    sure. See Vermicomposters dittttttt com

  16. Not John, but yes, seaweed/kelp will help remineralize your soil AND since
it is organic plant matter, if will stimulate the soil life in a way that
Azomite & glacial rick dust cannot. That said, John’s idea of using both
    makes sense.

  19. Wow John try both the micro & the time-release rock dust just in case you
forget to add more rock dust.

  20. You and Praxxus have really motivated me to grow a garden, and I was loving
it until yesterday when my mini garden was assaulted by a plague of
insects. It seems everything in the neighborhood decided to munch down on
my little baby plants. Caterpillars, white flies, tiny flea looking bugs,
something chewed my bellpeppers from the base. AAAAAHHHHH!!! I’m definitely
gonna try that Neem stuff, do they have it in nuclear strength? Y’know,
something I have to drop from space??

  22. Great vid, John, that kale in the container was amazing. Can you tell me if
the spacing in raised beds is the same for tomatoes and lettuce, 1 foot
apart or do tomatoes need more space? Can the lettuce go any closer? I only
have one 4′ x 8′ raised bed at this point. Is it ok to put tomatoes at the
back of the bed and lettuce in the front? The tomatoes I don’t usually
stake, if I put some lettuce in there, I guess they would have to be (or
    else put them in containers).

  23. Just left the place and I told them I’m there because of you! Spent
$106.00! I might have to eat this Azomite @ $35 a bag but then if it makes
my veggies taste better than it will be worth it! I made a video about it.
    lol
