anyone have a cat and fed them urban carnivore or something like that, raw pet food? is it any good?

We feed one meal of dry, one meal of canned per day and raw (chicken or beef cut up) twice a week.

I have 3 cats. About 1/3 of their diet is raw. I have not bought any commercial raw foods for my cats so can’t comment.
Some of the raw my cats eat is chicken, turkey, or rabbit and chicken liver mixed with this product:

The rest is various meats I buy for them at a meat market including chicken, turkey, rabbit, beef, venison , goat, beef heart, chicken hearts, chicken liver, and lamb kidney. I like to know exactly what I am buying, how fresh it is, how it is stored, and prepared. I am not saying that commercial products are not good. I just like to know for sure and have control myself.

The other 2/3 of their diet is canned EVO including the duck and the venison, Wellness, Merrick’s, Natural Balance, Evanger’s, and Before Grain.
They get a small amount of dry EVO as a treat a few times a week when we play our “hunting” game.
I might increase the proportion of raw food in their diets at some point but right now I have a nice routine down that is working well.

Their prices are very reasonable compared to other prepared raw. It only contains the muscle meat, organs, bone and blood. One of the most obvious benefits I’ve seen (and smelled) with feeding raw is the poop is significantly less smelly and they don’t poop as much. I honestly don’t smell any poop until I am scooping out their box, whereas, when I feed canned, I can smell the poop while in the next room. Their coat is more shiny, soft and healthy. And they have less smelly breath. I’ve been feeding the raw diet since Jan ’09. My cats eat 2 meals of raw per day. And 1 canned food per week or less. They get about 7-10 pieces of dry as a treat.
