Question by Linda f: Does registration of mixed breed pet goat in “Goat Registry” with a tattoo meet USDA regs instead of a tag ?
I need to move my pet goat to Texas and would prefer not to tag his ear. He is registered with Goat Registry (online registration and has his tattoo. Does anyone know if ths is acceptable in lieu of an ear tag ?
Thanks.

  1. I can’t say for certain, but if he is registered with one of the recognized National associations and he has registration papers which match is tattoo you should be able to move him across state lines. This is the way it is for Dairy goats at least.

You may also need a vet certificate as well.
