I saw this on a tv show and woundered if it was a real thing.

  1. 3 lbs chickens, jointed in 8 pieces
    1/2 cup flour
    2 teaspoons salt
    3/4 teaspoon good quality cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon turmeric
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    1 pinch freshly ground nutmeg
    1 egg
    2 tablespoons milk
    1/3 cup dried crushed breadcrumbs
    cooking spray
    2 tablespoons oil (optional)
    Sauce
    1/4 cup butter
    1/2 cup honey
    2 pinches finely ground cinnamon
    1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

    4 servings Change size or US/metric
    Change to: servings US Metric

    50 minutes 10 mins prep

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
    Spray a large roasting pan lightly with cooking spray.
    Combine the flour with the salt, cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper, and a pinch nutmeg.
    Coat the chicken pieces well with the flour mixture (you can use chicken with or without skin on- it’s up to you).
    Beat together the egg and milk; dredge the flour-coated chicken pieces in the egg mixture, then into the breadcrumbs.
    Arrange pieces skin side up (if using pieces with skin) in the sprayed roasting pan, making sure that the pieces are not touching each other (if possible) to ensure they bake crispy; spray chicken pieces with oil spray or sprinkle with 2 tablespoons oil and place the chicken in the oven to bake.
    While the chicken is baking, in a saucepan over medium low heat combine the butter, honey, pinches of cinnamon, and lemon juice.
    After the chicken has baked for 25 minutes, pour the butter and honey mixture generously over the pieces.
    Bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the juices run clear and the chicken is crisp and brown.
    Note: if you’d like to add a bit of kick to the recipe, you can try a pinch or two of cayenne (to taste) in the honey sauce, or perhaps some red pepper flakes. 🙂

  2. Cinnamon Chicken

    For the chicken:
    1 3-pound chicken, cut into 8 pieces

    Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    For the raita:
    1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and chopped or grated

    1/4 cup plain yogurt

    1/4 cup sour cream

    2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro or parsley

    1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

    1. For the chicken: Preheat broiler. Place chicken on a broiler pan. Sprinkle all over with salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Turn skin-side down, and transfer to broiler. Broil about 6-inches from the heat for 15 minutes. Turn the chicken, and broil until the skin is crisp and brown, about 15 minutes more.

    2. For the raita: In a small bowl, stir together the cucumber, yogurt, sour cream, cilantro, and cumin. Season with salt and pepper. Serve chicken immediately with raita.

  4. It’s SUPER easy. I melt a little butter or margarine and brush it over the entire chicken, then I sprinkle the cinnamon lightly over the entire chicken. About 20 minutes before it’s done, I repeat. It’s also good if you mix cinnamon and honey together and spead it over the baked chicken about 20 minutes before your ready to pull it out.

    CINNAMON CHICKEN

    1 1/2 cups dry sherry
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 cup honey
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    1 frying chicken, 2 1/2 to 3 pounds, cut into pieces
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil

    In a medium size bowl, mix the dry sherry, cinnamon, honey, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Add the chicken and toss to a evenly coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator 8 hours, or overnight.
    To cook, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

    Remove the chicken, shaking off excess marinade. Pour the marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil until it begins to thicken and about 1 cup remains, 5 to 10 minutes.

    Heat the oil in an ovenproof skillet over medium high heat. Sear the chicken until golden on both sides. Pour the reduced marinade over the chicken and place in the oven.

    Bake about 20 minutes and serve.

  7. Chicken Braised with Cinnamon and Cloves

    Ingredients

    (5 servings)

    1 Frying or roasting chicken*
    1 Lemon (juice only)
    4 tb Sweet butter & oil, mixed
    1/2 c Dry white wine (optional)
    1 1/2 lb Peeled, chopped tomatoes
    1 tb Tomato paste; mixed w/ water
    1/4 c -Water to mix w tomato paste
    1 Large stick cinnamon
    3 Whole cloves
    Salt & freshly ground pepper
    Fresh parsley or watercress

    Instructions

    *Note: Chicken should be about 2-1/2 lbs., and be cut into serving pieces.
    Arrange the chicken parts in a glass or earthenware bowl and rub all over with lemon juice. Allow to stand while heating the butter and oil in a heavy braising pot. Slip the chicken into the fat and cook over medium heat, turning with tongs to avoid pricking the flesh; saute until light chestnut in color. Heat the wine in a small pan, pour over the chicken, shake the pan, and continue cooking over low heat. Stir in the tomatoes and tomato paste, slip the cinnamon and cloves in among the pieces, and cover. Simmer over the lowest possible heat for 1-1/2 hours, or until the chicken is tender and the sauce thick. Or, transfer to a medium slow oven (325 F) to complete the cooking. Season with salt and pepper. Serve warm over cooked grain or mashed potatoes with green raw or cooked vegetables and chilled wine. Garnish with parsley or watercress.

    4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    2 tablespoons Italian-style seasoning
    1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
    3 teaspoons salt
    1 teaspoon ground black pepper

    DIRECTIONS:
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    Place chicken in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with ground cinnamon, seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper. (Note: You can be liberal with the seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper; however, the cinnamon should only be a dusting and not clumped.)
    Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.
