Question by Ein: Does anyone know of any urban legends or myths in Matthews, North Carolina?
Last year me and some ex. friends were out in a forest like area, where all of those massive power lines are. We were trying to catch her cat who had gotten out and ran into the brush. I heard some sticks breaking and rustling about 20-30 feet in front of us. I was sure it was the cat but as I turned to tell my friend she was holding the cat telling me she found it. I looked back and saw the trees swaying out of the way of something ans I saw a huge white mass dart off in the distance. I thought it was a wolf, so me and my pansy ass screamed and ran. Once we got to a rock path we looked behind us and didn’t see or hear anything.
Another thing happened at the ex. friend’s house. It was very early morning and they were all asleep on the couch. I was packing my stuff up so that it would be together and that I had everything. I stood by her window picking up something and I heard a chicken gobbling and running past the window. I looked out there quickly and didn’t see anything. Her dog was asleep as well. It was so real I couldn’t believe it.

Can someone please help me?

  1. Not too sure, but I do know there are many books about NC ghost stories and Legends. Fortunately, we have many legends. The Maco light, Devils stomping grounds, hundreds of tales of the Smokey mountains. I’d do a Google search on NC legends and maybe even use the library to find some books about NC legends. I read one once that did have the legends broken down by counties. But that was many moons ago. you can also check this link http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/kidspg/legends.htm

Who knows, you may have stumbled on a new one.
