Give away? Thats a pipe dream. They arn’t cheap. A couple hundred bucks for a swarm plus supplies. Additionally, rasing honey bees isn’t really lucrative its more of a hobby than anything. Sometimes they will swarm and take off and its all for nothing.
Before you consider adopting a hive…make sure you are allowed to keep them on your property.
Most urban areas do not allow home beekeeping within a certain number of feet of a neighbor.
Beekeeping is a wonderful hobby. You can sell soaps and hand cremes in addition to raw honey. You can also rent your bees to arborists during the spring months to help pollinate their trees. Your bees will eat for FREE!
