Question by tuan: Do you ever make homemade foods?
homemade foods instead of store-bought?
if so, which foods do you make? how do you make them and how often?

i like cutting potatoes and deep frying them to make potato chips or french fries.
i also like shaking cream until it becomes whipped cream. sometimes i freeze it to make ice cream.
fresh-squeezed oranges make delicious juice.
i have yet to try whipping cream until it becomes butter.
i also want to try to bake my own bread.
i tried making peanut butter cookies but they turned out hard and dense =(

i do something like this at least once a day.

what foods do you make?
=)
yeah i make my own fried rice, too. i fry onions, an egg, add steamed rice, and sometimes some meat.

how do you make your stuff?

  2. I make many of my own home-made foods. I’ve made several of the things you mentioned but I have a list of some additional things I make. I grow small cucumbers to make pickles and relishes. I make my own breads (my favorite is rye) and pasta’s. I never make box cakes, I figure if your going to eat cake you should at least take the time to make it from scratch. I make my own wine too, from grapes, mulberries, apples, pears and even spearmint. I make Dolmas (stuffed grape leaves similar to stuffed cabbage) with the grape leaves. Actually, I have a pretty good size piece of property where I grow my own strawberries, blueberries, mulberries, black berries, plums, apples, pears and grapes. I have a pretty big vegetable garden too. I also raise honey bees and keep my own little flock of hens for eggs.

  3. I make everything I can from scratch. Packaged foods don’t taste like home made. I make my own mayonnaise, russian dressing, cookies from scratch, including pizzelles. I have made butter w/o coloring. I make waffles and pancakes from scratch. I have a work mate who makes maple syrup. I make homemade breads but I cheat and use my bread machine rather than the oven. It saves time and the bread is excellent. I make jams and preserves, chutney, tomato sauce, pickles, home made potato chips and fries and penuche.

I agree with you. I have never tasted whipped cream as good as home made.
