DIY Budget Aquaponics, dedicated bed for growing corn
Having tried growing corn last year I decided to make a dedicated bed for growing them this year.

Great system, I am planning on something similar but using cut down IBC’s
for the beds and with a full size IBC for a sump and another for the tank
which will have constant water height.

That’s brilliant! Might suggest a bit of screen to keep the gravel in the
red tank, and out of the pipe. Curious to see how the corn does. Thanks…

I’m in the process of sourcing better solutions for the beds which involve
a minimum of work to utilize. Although cut down IBC’s make excellent beds
there’s a lot of work involved. My aim is to have a plug and play design
that any one can setup and use and more importantly cheap. I still like the
IBC’s for the fish tank though. Due to the amount of work burying the fish
tank i think I’d use a sump and constant height fish tank in a new design.

Its taken a while to get my nutrients right but they’re doing really well
now, about a foot tall and really green. Check your nitrate levels mine hit
rock bottom and alot of the plants suffered.
