  5. Yes they fly but only short distances….I’ve had chickens in my backyard all my life.

    Domestic chickens are not capable of long distance flight, although lighter birds are generally capable of flying for short distances, such as over fences or into trees (where they would naturally roost). Chickens will sometimes fly to explore their surroundings, but usually do so only to flee perceived danger..

  7. Yeah and if you jumped of a building you’d fly too. Get real. of course chickens can fly, they just have no long distance capabilities

  8. Not only can they fly but in some cases feral colonies have developed. A famous case is a colony under the Hollywood Freeway. They have also become a problem in Key West, on Honolulu and on Alderney in the Channel Islands!
