Can I feed wolf spiders chicken?

I was feeding my chickens this morning when something caught my eye UNDER the coop! An egg! Then as I reached under to collect it, I spied 4 more! Someone has been laying on the sly! I believe it is Yvonne…she’s a week older than the rest and was making lots of noise the other day. It made me suspicious but there was nothing in the nest boxes and I went online to see how early I should expect eggs and most of the info said around 4 months. She’s not quite 4 months yet…so she’s officially an overachiever!
I have been giddy since my discovery…isn’t it funny how the simplest things can give us such JOY!?

Okay, so winter has finally arrived in Florida, and catching crickets is a pain in the ass right now. Can I feed my wolf spider bits of cooked chicken?

A wolf spider will not accept chicken unfortunately, and it would not be healthy for the animal if it did. Crickets and mealworms are cheap and easy to come by in bait shops and pets stores though. I would make sure you keep it hydrated and do not stress it much while you wait to get its food.
If your keeping a wild spider I strongly suggest doing research into its care to improve its longevity and make sure its comfortable.

I really doubt your pet would eat anything that is not live or moving.
I have the same problem with my spiders.
The best soloution is to buy feed insects from pet stores, or if you have several hungry pets, you might consider rearing your own crickets, meal worms, or fruit flies.
None of my wolf spiders would eat anything but feed insects, and then, they are even a bit finiky.
