  1. No its not for the honey, although it is fantastic. The main reason is that
    these native Australian, stingless bees, are under threat from the
    introduced bees and this has a negative affect on Australian flora and
    fauna. Theyre sensitive little critters and need all the help they can get.

  2. @FancyPantsElitist They may not sting but they sure can bite. The camera
    man, who isn’t wearing one, can attest to this fact.

  5. some interesting info but didnt state whether you cut the hive in half and
    have two halfs for the new hives. Didnt see it in the video.

  8. (Portuguese – Brazil) Achei o modelo de caixa bastante interessante. Não
    entendi para que serve exatamente a abertura superior, mas de qualquer
    forma parabéns por suas abelhas. Recentemente recebemos a visita de um
    criador de abelhas aí da Austrália – Sr. Robert Lutrell. Foi uma troca de
    experiências incrível. No Brasil possuímos uma variedade muito grande de
    espécies de meliponas. Sinto muito orgulho de ser meliponicultor e saber
    que estou contribuindo com a natureza de alguma forma.
