  1. Antonio, 9 coils and 9 magnets are possible for a single phase generator,
for a 3 phase generator the ratio is 9 coils and 12 magnets.
The polarity must be “N” and “S” facing to have the most attraction to each
other, that means that the magnetic Flux is greater when it passes the coils

  7. Good video on how not to build a stator. The main problem with this design
(that is available all over the web) is that the N and S poles need to be
over a same coil at the same time to achieve maximum power output. That
never happens with this design. Ideally you need a coil for each pair of
magnets – not just fill the space in the stator.

  10. Might I ask why the windings are not uniformly spaced?

  11. @TheEm991, the 3 phase, black, yellow and green go to a bridge rectifier to
convert it from Ac to dc.

  12. hi Sam !! … question ! … viewing it like that ¿what’s the direction of
    the windings? i mean ¿clockwise or counter-clockwise?

  13. @ronalduriolcabrera, if you are starting on the inside, then it is
    counter-clockwise for each coil. sam

  14. This design is right. It is designed to avoid cog. When one magnet is
producing max current then the next is about to enter the coil and the 3rd
magnet is about to leave the coil. This makes the resisting torque smooth.
if you put the same number of magnets as the number of coils then cog it
huge and it is not a good design.

  16. hello emagnets.
I one of the replies at fieldlines discussions u said that two magnets
above opposite coillegs would cancel each other in voltage. here in your
annimation it is more or less like that… I am building the hugh piggotts
3meter axialflux alternator. in his book the coilleg with is 30 mm, same as
magnetwidth… I made it as in the book; 55 turns 2@1,7 mm.. magnet width
is 30 mm (and coillegwidth is also 30 mm-) … as i see it two magnets will
at some times be over one coil. same as in ur annimation. can that be a
    problem?
